Easy Farmhouse Signs
I have wanted to try this project for so long but just couldn't believe it would really be that simple. Right after Christmas I came across the most beautiful tray marked down to $6- I'd been wanting one for the guest room but this one had a Christmas design. I decided this was the perfect time to try out the method I found here. I didn't take pictures of the process, but just follow along on the other blog- it's really that easy! I painted over the design with chalk paint (cream), let it dry. Then I printed off my word after reversing the image (I used Google Slides to do this). I spread a little mod podge and laid the image on (after trimming around it to reduce the white paper edges). I topped it with a little more modge podge and let it mostly dry. When it was almost dry, I took a wet rag and began to rub off the paper. If you want a distressed look, it will happen naturally as it will take off a bit of the black but if you want it clearer, just let it dry and go back over it with paint or a sharpie. I left this one distressed but another sign I used the sharpie to clean it up. Then you are done!
